Photo Album

Some photos from Memorial Day weekend on the Narcosis. Absolutely perfect drift diving, giving divers experience with both calm seas and strong current. Don't ask the webmaster how it is that he went down with Group 1, yet surfaced with Group 2. Again, some good opportunities for fish ID. See how you do.

fish

Find the fish among the rocks.

lobster

Another puzzle. Where's the animal?

lobster

OK. Not too hard. This is why they're called 'bugs.'

fish Since they're out of season, lobsters could be seen everywhere, out in the open.
lobster

Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my closeup.

fish

A great dive with Neptune Dive & Ski, on the Narcosis.

fish

A lionfish. They were EVERYWHERE. Unfortunately. The trip was all about lionfish.

fish

This trip was also about turtles. Good to see that they were everywhere this year.

fish

Peace be to you, also.

fish

Concentrating on perfect buoyancy.

fish

A relaxed safety stop.

fish

Great dive!

fish

Yes, they bite. Didn't see many eels this trip. They're usually everywhere.

fish

Jean, breaking the surface after a great dive.

fish

Shy.

fish

The night dive.

fish A puffer coming, and...
fish

...another one going. Word to the wise: the Narcosis dive guides don't want you messing with puffers.

fish

Look in the center. No, it's not a rock. (Shovelnose lobster.)

fish

Crab anyone? La Bamba makes a nice crab burro.

fish A closer view.
fish

Another lion fish in a sponge.

fish

Whoops - might have interrupted something.

fish

On the sand at the night dive.

fish Some reef landscape from the night dive.
fish

More landscape, and a bashful fish.

fish

Excellent terrain on Ron's Rock. (That's the name of the night dive site, near The Trench.)

fish

Juno Ledge on Sunday afternoon, 90 FSW, with just a little bit of current. Float ball? Who needs a float ball?

fish Juno Ledge.
fish

Danny went in this tunnel, and went all the way in, and saw groupers that were THIS BIG.

bigfish

Sea urchin at 90 feet.

fish

A rare photo of the webmaster, taken by Danny.

fish Danny's video camera also takes still shots. Obviously, it does video, and I do have some video from the trip. All I have to do is figure out how to post it.

Underwater stress reduction. Photo by Danny.

fish Nice shot, Danny!

There's a spider in the ocean on my hand...
